John Oliver was born 1793 in North Carolina and died about 1864 in Cade's Cove, Blount County, TN.

He was married Lurena Frazier on April 22, 1817 at the home of his brother, Greorge R. Oliver, in Carter County, TN

Lurena was born about 1785 in Carter County, TN, and died in 1888 in Cade's Cove, Blount County, TN.
John and Lurena were the first white settlers of Cades Cove.  

Today, Cades Cove is a part of the Smokey Mountain National Park.

Baptist Chruch in Cades Cove.
Lurena Frazier Oliver's
parents are unknown.  She was a
hired girl in Carter County, TN.
George Oliver
was born and died about 1824 in Cades Cove.  He is
buried in the Davis Cemetery at the lower part of the
Cades Cove Loop Road beside Abraham's Creek.

John and Lurena are the parents of nine known children.  They are:
